Request for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Moroccans in the United States

To the Honorable Donald J. Trump

Dear Mr. President,

The Trophy Foundation of Africanity, dedicated to promoting cooperation and solidarity between Africa and the world, wishes to bring to your attention the situation of Moroccans residing in the United States without legal status and to seek your consideration for granting them Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Morocco and the United States share a historic and privileged relationship, marked by mutual respect and strategic cooperation. It is essential to recall that the Kingdom of Morocco was the first country in the world to officially recognize the independence of the United States in 1777, establishing one of the oldest treaties of friendship between our two nations. This legacy of trust and friendship has always guided our bilateral relations and has been reinforced through strong partnerships in defense, trade, and diplomacy.

Today, thousands of Moroccans living in the United States actively contribute to the country’s prosperity through their work, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. However, many of them face an uncertain legal status, exposing them to the risk of deportation and socio-economic instability.

In light of this privileged relationship and the values of cooperation that unite us, we respectfully request your support in granting Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to Moroccans in an irregular situation in the United States. This measure would not only provide humanitarian protection but also recognize their valuable contributions to American society. Several countries already benefit from this provision due to exceptional circumstances; Morocco, as a historic ally of the United States, deserves similar consideration.

We are confident that your leadership and sense of justice will guide you in considering this request with fairness and goodwill. We remain at your disposal for a constructive dialogue on this matter and sincerely hope for your positive response.

Yours respectfully,

Nasrallah Belkhayate
President of the Trophy Foundation of Africanity
